How many people are on your retreats

We have purposely chosen to keep the day retreats small and intimate, ensuring that every person gets the space and attention they deserve. Usually we have a maximum of 10-12 participants with 2 leaders. For that reason places are very limited so we would always advise you to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. 

How much public speaking do I have to do?

At the start of the day we ask you to introduce the person you have sat next to. This is the only time you are asked to speak in front of the group. Most people find that a group of 10-12 women feels really intimate and therefore 30 seconds of introducing the person next to you isn’t insurmountable (even for those who have a phobia of public speaking). 

How much of my inner world do I have to share with strangers?

There are 6 coaching exercises on the day. Only 2 of them are done in pairs and the rest are completed on your own. For those in pairs, you join up with a partner – one plays the role of the coach (you are instructed how to do this) and the other is being coached. Then you swap over.

It’s up to you how much you share and we invite people to write the answers in their guest book if they find that more helpful than sharing out loud with their partner. Some people do this but generally people find that sharing in a pair feels safe to them and they often say that although that was what they were most concerned about before coming on the day, it actually became the bit they enjoyed the most. 

How much experience do you have to have in order to participate in the yoga? 

The yoga is restorative yoga – Yin yoga and Yoga Nidra which are gentle and calming. If you can lay on your back and close your eyes you can do Yoga Nidra. It is a wonderful sleepy kind of yoga where we cover you in blankets and you drift off to another world. We always emphasise the importance of going at your own pace and Helen will check and support you whenever necessary. The majority of people attending our retreat days have little to no experience with yoga but often leave having fallen in love with it.

Are refreshments provided?

Yes – morning refreshments, lunch and afternoon refreshments are all provided. (Please state allergies on your booking form)

I have a special dietary requiremenT, what shall I do?

Fear not – we can cater for everyone. Simply state your allergies/ intolerances on the booking form and we will take care of the rest. The food is delicious and everyone always leaves feeling full. We serve breakfast and lunch with tea/cake breaks throughout the day – you won’t go hungry. 

What SHOULD I bring with me?

  • An open mind and a desire to get curious about yourself
  • Comfortable clothing (including a warm jacket)

  • 8:15-8.30: Arrival, welcome and introductions with hot drinks and a light breakfast
  • Session 1: Nature Immersion session 
  • Session 2: Strengths timeline 
  • Session 3: Journalling exercise / Tea and cake break

  • Session 6: Healthy lunch overlooking Mawgan Porth Bay

I'm coming on my own – will I be ok?

Of course. We can't emphasise enough the warm, friendly and supportive environment of our Ignite Life day retreats. Any concerns you might have will dissipate the second you walk through the door. 

What if I cry? 

The day isn’t designed to press into deep historic traumas, however people cry for a lot of reasons and they aren’t always negative. At the start of the day we make everyone aware that we are not scared of emotion and that tears can sometimes be a really a powerful and necessary demonstration of moving forward with their lives. If you cry, 90% of the room won’t notice because they will be engaged in their exercises, but someone will be on hand to provide you with a tissue and any other support that you need. However, our experience in running these retreats is that people generally find them happy and uplifting days. 

I am travelling from far away – can you recommend a hotel?

The www.bedruthan.com is only 10 minutes away from Newquay airport. You can fly direct to Newquay with FlyBe from London Gatwick, Manchester, Edinburgh & Birmingham. 

What if I have to cancel?

We are afraid that tickets are non-refundable but if you are unable to come on the day we will endeavour to transfer you to a future retreat.
